Hello! I'm Milly, but I tend to go by my full name now, Amelia. I didn't have an upbringing in the kitchen with my grandmother (although that would have been amazing), or any formal culinary training at that. My passion for food and pastry stems from a big appetite and a love for all things creative.
Born and raised in Virginia, I originally moved to California to pursue a career in advertising. After 5 years in Los Angeles, I decided to move south for a healthier lifestyle in San Diego. In-between marketing and hospitality jobs, I found time to discover my passion for baking and cake design.
In 2016, I ordered my first KitchenAid, along with a few cookbooks, and began baking from scratch. Although I have taken various classes, the skills and techniques I am most proud of today have been self-taught.
I find inspiration in things like vintage jewelry, art deco designs, Mexican textiles, and personal travel. I love smooth-as-fondant buttercream cakes, romantic fresh florals, and patterned stencils.
Please know that I am a one-woman show. Every order I take is baked, frosted, designed, decorated, and delivered by me, as if it were my own. I am committed to using the best local & organic ingredients, and can't wait to help you design something beautiful and delicious.
